INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS
Build Your Skills.
Develop The Gifts That God’s Given You.
Real Life offers internship programs during the Summer, Fall, and Spring semesters. Your development at Real Life looks like identifying and activating your unique purpose. God has given each one of us different passions, gifts, and opportunities that might not have fully developed yet. We want to give you the proper practical experience to activate your passion and gifting, so you can identify more deeply how God has designed you to build His kingdom.

Business Internships
- Business Internships are those which relate to the operations of our church and its essential functions. Included are IT and HR, among others.
Creative Internships
- Creative Ministries give our interns opportunities to build their skills through Production or Broadcasting of our Worship services, Marketing, Social Media, and Graphic Design. Some of these roles can also be remote.

Are there any basic requirements?
Yes, there are 4 essential requirements that are non-negotiable:
- All interns must consider themselves Christians and have committed their lives to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ
- Align with our church’s beliefs which can be found at real.life/beliefs
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Pass a level 2 background check
How long is an internship?
Each semester is 12 weeks long and there is sometimes an opportunity to extend the internship.
Is the internship full time or part time?
Each internship is part time and 15-20 hours/week are required. It is possible to do 2 internships the same semester, but not all pairs of internships would work. We can help you figure out if a match is possible.
Do interns receive compensation?
Yes, but it’s not a job and more of a chance to explore calling to ministry and following your purpose. Therefore, we give interns a stipend of $150 per week.
Do I have to be authorized to work in the United States?
Yes, you do. We do not sponsor visas, but if you are doing fieldwork through CPT, we can help with the paperwork.
Is housing included?
No, housing is not included, but in instances when an intern is doing 2 ministry internships at the same time, we will provide housing.
Will you work with my school so I can get credit for this internship?
Yes! We will do what is necessary to help you get college credit for the learning you will do with us!
How does the process work?
Here are the steps:
- Complete the Real Life Internship application, even if you have seen our posting on another site like Handshake or Indeed.
- Some internships require a skills test to be reviewed by the team required before progressing to the next step.
- Have an overview video call with our Internship Pastor Noah Miller who will share information and help determine if you may be a good match for the program.
- If you are a good candidate, we will send your information to the relevant team and to decide if they would like to pursue your application.
- If they decide to pursue your application, we schedule an in person interview. (If the position you are seeking is remote or you are away at school and not nearby, a video call may be more appropriate.)
- After the interview, the team will make a decision about offering the internship.
How competitive is the Real Life Internship program?
Some internships are VERY competitive and others are not. We have pretty high expectations of our interns so only a small number of applicants actually get an internship offer.
Does the internship lead to a job?
While it is possible for an internship to lead to employment it is never a guarantee for a position at the church. Even the most successful interns will not be accepted into a staff position if there is no additional staff availability in the ministry.
